Backyard Grannys awarded Granny Flat of the Year award!

On Friday 25 August 2017 the Master Builders Association held its Excellence in Building Awards at the NEX, Newcastle West. There were over 150 entries across a range of categories, with the objective of the yearly Awards is to encourage, promote and recognise “Best Practice” in building and to establish benchmark projects for contractors to emulate.

The ‘Blackwall’ granny flat was the winning entry, with the judges saying:

“The building demonstrates the high level of features that can be achieved in a granny flat development, as well as demonstrating the potential to integrate attractive outdoor living spaces with this type of home. The limited scale of the project has not generated any limitation on the quality of the outcome.”

Backyard Grannys Director, Alex Mitchell, said it was fantastic to be recognised by their industry peers.
