Tom & Linda chose one of our most popular designs, the Allambie two bedroom granny flat. Tom worked with our architectural designer to make sure he had the right layout and features he required. Their site is located in the coastal suburb of Caves Beach, in Lake Macquarie. They wanted to maximise their views of Swansea channel, therefore it was important we orientated the building precisely, which was something we achieved in the design phase.

This Newcastle granny flat is built on bearers and joists and also features a skillion roof which extends out over the large merbau deck. This deck also features downlights and a servery bench from the kitchen. The external façade of this granny flat has James Hardie Axon cladding in Colorbond Deep Ocean.

The design includes open plan living and the dining room also merges into the kitchen. The kitchen has been designed with a waterfall stone bench top and as mentioned above, protrudes out of the external kitchen wall as a servery bench for the deck.

Their granny flat was built in 16 weeks, and they now have spectacular views of the Swansea Channel and bridge!
